… I was considering replacing the line tile but then opted to clean it instead. It cleaned up beautifully! Paul even replaced a few missing tiles too. Great job!

Desert hard water had left a pale crust along the whole band of waterline tile. The tile underneath wasn’t damaged, just covered, so once the calcium came off, the original color was back.

Our services

Pool Tile Calcium Removal

Our specialty. We remove the calcium buildup from your waterline tile so its original color shows again. If any grout is already loose or worn, we’ll point it out and quote the repair separately.

Calcium buildup

Why the white line keeps coming back

Desert water leaves its minerals on the tile every time it evaporates. Over a season they harden into a pale crust.

A brush won’t take it off, because it isn’t dirt. It’s calcium, bonded to the tile.

How we remove it

We lower the water about one foot

For calcium removal, we typically lower the water about one foot below the tile line rather than draining the entire pool. No full drain and refill: we only replace the water we lowered.

Three steps

How it works

  1. You call

Call (760) 620-4569 and you talk to the owner, not a call center or a dispatcher.

  2. We give you a quote

We price the job on what’s actually on your waterline, not off a square-foot chart.

  3. Ready to swim

In most cases, when the pool is not completely drained, it is ready to swim the same day.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will it damage the tile?

We assess your tile’s condition and select the appropriate cleaning method. Existing damage, worn grout, or loose tile may become more noticeable during cleaning. We’ll explain any concerns and quote repairs separately.

Do you have to drain the pool?

For calcium removal, we typically lower the water about one foot below the tile line rather than draining the entire pool. Some other services, like tile repair, re-grouting or an acid wash, may require draining, and we will tell you up front. If your pool has not been fully drained in three years or more, we recommend a full drain.

How long does it take?

In most cases, when the pool is not completely drained, it is ready to swim the same day. The waterline work itself is usually a single visit; how long that visit runs depends on how much scale has built up and how long it has been there.

What does it cost?

Send a couple of photos and the estimate is free, usually the same day. What drives the number is how much scale has built up and what your tile is made of.

What if some of the tile is cracked or loose?

Let us know when you call. Tile repair is a separate service, and we can often do it on the same visit as the cleaning, which saves you a second trip. If a section has to be removed and reset, that part does need the pool drained, and we’ll tell you before the job, not on the day.
